Milford Regional Web Site Wins Award
Milford Regional Medical Center’s community Web site, milfordregional.org, was awarded a silver Lamplighter award for excellence by New England’s premier organization of health care communicators, New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo).
In 2008, milfordregional.org, underwent several important changes including the addition of patient stories in video and text format, the introduction of Portuguese and Spanish content, and an electronic newsletter. The home page was redesigned to draw visitors inside the site by calling attention to the interesting stories and videos on the content pages.
According to Terri McDonald, director of public relations and marketing, “The goal was to increase community satisfaction by providing more content that would keep patients healthy and informed and to use the electronic newsletter to reach out to the community to increase awareness of this new content. And it worked!” Analysis of the site statistics revealed an increase of 68% for visits when compared with the previous year.
300 people registered to receive the Medical Center’s first e-newsletter in May of 2008. That number increased to more than 1600 registrants with our last issue. To add your name to the e-Newsletter list, visit the e-Newsletter signup page.
