Milford Regional Cancer Center Focus of WGBH Program

The Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center was highlighted on public broadcast station WGBH 2/HD’s weekly Greater Boston program on Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

WGBH expressed interest in the collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Physician’s Organization to establish comprehensive cancer care satellites with healthcare organizations situated at a distance from their Boston location. In an effort to make access to world-class cancer care more convenient to those outside the city, this new entity, Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center (DFBWCC), has developed several partnerships, including one with Milford Regional Medical Center.

In order to spotlight DFBWCC’s outreach efforts, WGBH needed to film one of their satellite locations. Recognized as a premier site, The Cancer Center at Milford Regional was selected. WGBH personnel spent the better part of a day recently interviewing Lawrence N. Shulman, MD, chief medical officer and senior VP for medical affairs and chief, division of general oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Francis M. Saba, CEO, Milford Regional; and two patients. They also filmed extensively throughout the facility.

The Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center is a comprehensive cancer care facility in partnership with Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. All services, including medical oncology, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging and laboratory, are conveniently located under one roof on Milford Regional’s campus.
