Milford Regional’s Annual Tree of Life
Raises Over $12,800

Over 200 guests attended Milford Regional Medical Center’s (Milford Regional) recent Tree of Life ceremony. This annual event is a celebration of life and a tribute for those who have survived cancer, who have battled the disease or who have been touched by cancer. Members of the community enjoyed entertainment provided by The Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra String Trio: Etleva Hima-Buli, Violin; Drew Ricciardi, Viola; and Johann Soults, Cello. Brief comments were made by Francis M. Saba, Milford Regional’s CEO, Edward J. Kelly, Milford Regional’s President, and oncologist Mona Kaddis, MD. The group then moved outside along a path lit by tribute luminaries to the front of the Medical Center for the tree lighting ceremony. Each candle on the tree was a symbol to honor or remember a loved one affected by cancer. The tree will remain lit during the holiday season as a reminder of hope in the fight against cancer.
This year’s event raised over $12,800 to benefit the Oliva Patient Comfort Fund and the hospice program at the Medical Center. This fund will assist oncology patients purchase items to help make their lives more comfortable during their treatment at the new Cancer Center.
