Summer Teen Volunteer Program
Volunteer Services is now accepting applications for the summer teen volunteer program. Teens must be at least 15 years old and able to make a commitment of 6 or more weeks over the summer. This program runs from June 28th – August 20th.
Returning teens must submit a new application, health form and parental authorization for health screening.
Teens provide valuable assistance in many areas throughout the Medical Center and we are fortunate to have many wonderful teens interested in volunteering. In past years, we have had more than twice as many teens apply for this program than we have positions available. Selecting from such a great group of teens is difficult. Summer volunteers will be selected based on age, availability over the summer, and interest in exploring a health related field.
Please review the summer volunteer letter (below) which contains additional details about the summer teen volunteer program. You can download the application, Employee Health information sheet and parental authorization for health screening and send these completed forms along with your immunization record to Elaine Willey Volunteer Services, Milford Regional Medical Center, 14 Prospect Street, Milford, MA 01757.

Volunteers are a Valuable Resource
Volunteers contribute significantly in the daily functioning of the hospital by providing the extras: supporting staff, assisting patients and visiting families. The measure of their value is far greater than the 600+ weekly hours of service they provide. Volunteers contribute their skills, experience, and most of all, their compassion.
Who Volunteers?
Students, working people, at-home moms and dads, professionals, retirees and teens. Like the patients they serve, Volunteers represent a diverse group.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is a win-win endeavor. As much as volunteers give to Milford Regional, volunteers are quick to say they get back as much or more… Friendships and camaraderie, the opportunity to learn and gain experience, satisfaction from giving back to the community, and the ability provide a useful and valued service are some reasons volunteers stay.

"The friendships that develop you can't touch on the outside. I've been volunteering five years, and hope to be doing it for the next 10 years!" Alice Wright, |
"I play with the children who are patients — and their siblings sometimes. The kids enjoy it, and the parents seem so appreciative. I feel like I am contributing in some way.... and I'm having a lot of fun." Barbara Kucich, |
